It has been a CRAAAAAAAZY season of life, so I'm sorry I've been MIA. Actually, I seem to do that often, post and say it was a crazy season, apologize, then say I'm going to post more, then disappear, then come back and do the same thing again, haha! :\ Anyways, I finally got around to editing our Hawaii footage! Big thanks to my buddy for hooking it up with a new GoPro Hero5 right before our trip! Enjoy!
When I last wrote Trip Planning: Hawaii March 2017, about our upcoming Hawaii trip, I had a lot of ideas on what I wanted to do in terms of lodging but was not at a point where I could nail anything down. This was partially because I was still working on building up our points stash, but also I was trying to figure out if obtaining hotel status’ was possible. I’m happy to say that we’ve finally firmed up all our plans except for a few minor things here and there! The countdown has begun… t-minus 20 days!
So there's been a short little hiatus on this blog. Ok, maybe not so short, more like almost half a year hiatus. But I can explain, no really! Let's just say that I've been a little busy. Actually, a little busy is an understatement. Wifey quit her job back in September, so I ramped up my side hustle basically from 10% to full blown 110% to try and make up the income that we were losing. The following have been how I've been doing it and some other things that have kept me from blogging!
Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by concierge and brought up to the lobby, which was one elevator ride up. I had initially thought that this was one floor up, but turns out the lobby is actually located on the 3rd floor. The 3rd floor also boasts The Living Room, a bar, as well as The Back Room, their signature farm-to-table restaurant, which will open later this month.
My wife's birthday is coming up on the 19th of this month. Back in June, she texted me one day yelling (yes, through the phone) something to the effect of, "Van Morrison is going to be NYC! Can we go can we go can we go? Ok, I know we can't afford it, but I wish we could!" She is a huge Van Morrison fan, and seeing him live, in concert, would be a monumental check off of her bucket list!
As I stated in my Trip Report: 3 Days in Miami For Under $160, I picked this hotel based on its proximity to the CLT airport, and also the fact that it got pretty good reviews on TripAdvisor. There were also several other Hyatt Place's in the area that were also well-reviewed, but there were several things that drew us to the Hyatt House.
Our dearest friends, with whom we did life with when we first lived in North Carolina, moved to Miami 4 months ago. We had initially wanted to visit during Labor Day Weekend, but that didn't pan out, so we visited this past weekend!
It was only a few weeks back that I wrote about ways to maximize your credit card rewards earnings through the use of RadPad and Plastiq (Part I, Part II, Part III) for your rent and mortgage, but just a few days ago, RadPad came out with another very lucrative promotion! This post is especially for you renters out there!
