Southwest Plus Card is Available Again!

Disclaimer: If you are new to credit card rewards, please read Part 1Part 2, &Part 3 of The Fear of Leveraging Credit Cards.

*Update: The Chase Southwest Premier Card is available for 50,000 points as well. 5/6/16*

Southwest is offering their Southwest Plus card again! For the longest time, they've only had the 50,000 point bonus offer on the Premier card available, and only through a referral were you able to obtain the Plus card. So this is an awesome opportunity to jump on the Plus card if you've been waiting! There is an annual fee of $69, and you need to spend $2,000 within the first 3 months of opening the card to get the 50,000 bonus. *Edit: the following is my referral link. I would appreciate it if you applied through it!*

Why Get The Card?

I've previously written about how getting both the Plus and Premier cards will put you well on your way to obtaining a Southwest Companion Pass. This companion pass essentially allows you to fly, buy-one-get-one (BOGO) free, either on paid flights or using points! The great thing is, Southwest now also flies to international destinations such as Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Caribbeans! Read up on my Southwest Companion Pass post for more details!

If you're been wanting to get the Southwest Companion Pass, but have been procrastinating, this is your chance! Although, I do recommend getting the pass at the beginning of the year so that you can utilize 2 full years of BOGO travel, still, 1.5 years of BOGO free travel ain't too shabby!
